    Responsibilities

    The training specialist must have 5-7 years of experience assessing training needs and designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating training. Must be knowledgeable about adult learning principles, facilitation, various training methods and learning modalities, and supporting cross-functional teams. The candidate will support the Department of State and lead training efforts for grantees receiving federal assistance focused on the Indo-Pacific region.

    Qualifications

    Required:  

    • U.S. Government - Secret Clearance, or ability to secure interim Secret clearance
    • A background in developing and delivering content to train professionals in project management, performance management, compliance issues related to federal assistance awards, and assessing the outcomes of training interventions
    • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and think critically, both individually and in a team environment
    • Excellent organizational and written communication skills; capability to clearly and succinctly define problems and outline solutions
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Strong technical writing skills

    Desired:  

    • Experience with the U.S. State Department, USAID, or other government organization
    • Project Management Professional certification
    • Regional experience in South and Central Asia
    • Knowledge of grants management
    • Knowledge of foreign assistance
    • Experience with compliance issues related to Federal Assistance programs
    • Experience monitoring program performance
    • Knowledge of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning key concepts, systems, and procedure
