    Responsibilities

    This position is a Senior Acquisition Program Manager. Duties include applying knowledge and experience in Agile development methodologies to acquisition management and program management philosophy, policies and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, source selection activities, post award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles. The Senior Acquisition Program Manager will lead the team in AGILE practices, and ensure the production and delivery of a wide array of contract deliverables, manage cost, schedule, and performance for a diverse set of tasks being performed by staff from multiple technical and non-technical disciplines, and the agility to adapt to often changing customer requirements and tasking. The candidate’s responsibilities will be to confer with clients/end-users on solutions, and act as a trusted advisor, develop and review project plans, determine key objectives, milestones, procedures for accomplishing key performance parameters, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project. It will require employment of integration, communication, coordination, organizational, and planning expertise to technical and acquisition efforts across a broad spectrum of functional disciplines. Plans, organizes, and assists in managing critical aspects of the development, production, and/or deployment of systems, subsystems, and equipment. Performs a wide range of program management activities, such as: gathering a variety of program information; conducting analyses; assisting in acquisition strategy planning; assisting in pre-award and post-award document preparation; assisting in milestone planning, tracking, and scheduling; implementing contractor performance status systems; assisting in establishing and maintaining databases; assisting in developing and analyzing key program metrics; assisting in developing and integrating risk management plans and strategies; supporting program briefings; assisting in surveillance of weapon system prime contractor and subcontractor performance; assisting in determining program progress; and effectively communicating recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • A bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of experience working in a field relevant to functional area
    • Experience with AGILE development methods
    • Proven history of managing innovation in a high technology, fast paced, learning organization
    • Record of successfully managing large programs and contracts for Department of Defense customers
    • Understanding of Project and Program Management principles and techniques
    • Ability to provide direction and leadership to others
    • Ability to manage and escalate client issues
    • PMP Certification

    Desired:

    • Experience with the application of Systems Engineering principles
    • Functional knowledge and experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, SLM, Service Catalog, Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Asset, Knowledge Management).
