    Responsibilities

    Provides professional, timely and reliable paralegal support for Civil Litigation and Employment Law matters. The Senior Paralegal position will have oversight for other staff paralegals, and will be required to operate with minimal direct supervision in a fast paced legal environment. Sound judgment and an advanced legal acumen (JD is required) are important components for success. Duties will include:

    • Research and locate responsive information and identify relevant laws, judicial decisions, and legal articles.
    • Write preliminary drafts of legal memoranda and correspondence.
    • Assist in preparing draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc.; conducting legal analysis, reviewing documents for relevance and privilege; and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.

    Qualifications

    Required:  

    • Active Top Secret Clearance with SSBI contractually required.
    • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
    • Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly to translate legal requirements to technical requirements
    • Three or more years of litigation paralegal experience
    • Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS NEXIS and Westlaw
    • Have sound working knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
    • Strong understanding of a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
    • Consistently demonstrate ability to work as part of a team and manage complex relationships with all stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

     

    Desired:  

    • Five or more years of litigation paralegal experience
