    Responsibilities

    • Responsibilities:  

     

    The Cognos Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for the design and development of reports, visualizations, and dashboards using Cognos BI with Public Sector clients. The Cognos Business Intelligence Developer with work with business analysts, database administrators, and the ETL team to deliver strong reporting and analytic capabilities.  Will help clients maximize the value of their data through powerful reports and dashboards that allow for data driven decisions. Will work with a variety of data sets including: human resources, operational, mission, and budget.

    Qualifications

    Required:  

    •           Ability to design, develop, implement, and support Cognos dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using          Cognos 10 or Cognos 11.
    •           Alter data model and package structure in IBM Cognos Framework Manager as requirements and business rules change
    •           Understanding of database and data warehousing concepts
    •           Experience in visualization tools and techniques such as Tableau or PowerBI
    •           Write advanced queries using SQL
    •           Experience with Cognos Administrations, to include upgrades and system
    •           Ability to recommend alternative solution choices, determining trade-offs and impact analysis.
    •           Perform quality assurance and unit testing on deliverables and work products.
    •           Bachelor's degree, or higher in Computer Science or related field.
    •           5+ years of relevant experience. 
    •        Cognos Administrator - System administration, patches and upgrade hands-on experience
    •        Maintenance and continuity of the Cognos environment including BI security
    •        Install, configure and maintain multi server Cognos environments
    •        Coordinate with stake holders, database administrators to expeditiously troubleshoot failures
    •        Performance tune to enhance the timing of the reports. Perform backups
    •        On-site client work for 5 days of week
    •           Must be U.S. Citizen

    Security Clearance:  Secret

     

    Desired:  

    ·         Ability to analyze large and complex data sets into clear business language

    ·         Communicating effectively to various levels of management and clients

    ·         Create data architecture and data flow diagrams using MS Visio

    ·         Contributing team member who shares and collaborates on Business Intelligence best practices

    ·         Provide recommendations on report or dashboard enhancements
